Crucial points at stake in matchup between Romanian and Slovenian champions

Craiova, Romania, February 13, 2017. S.C.M. “U” CRAIOVA will be hosting ACH Volley LJUBLJANA on Wednesday in a match coming up for the fifth round of play in Pool D of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men. The matchup features the reigning Romanian and Slovenian national champions, with CRAIOVA making this season their debut in Europe’s elite club competition.

 The players and coaching staff of the home team are optimistic ahead of the match with ACH Volley. “I hold ACH Volley in high esteem,” said CRAIOVA head coach Danut Pascu. “Their players and organisation truly impressed me, especially their service, reception and defence.”

Marian Bala, player of S.C.M. “U” CRAIOVA commented: “We played a good match in Ljubljana a few weeks ago and I hope that we can repeat that same performance at home. We want to achieve a victory, because this time we will have the fans on our side. We will be trying to take points to make it through the group stage.”

Cristian Bartha continued: “If we take three points from the match with ACH Volley, I think we still stand a chance of progressing to the Playoffs. We played a very good match in Ljubljana and could have secured a 3-1 victory. Unfortunately, we ended up losing 3-2 and so we want to take our revenge at home.”
