Partizani and three more teams to fight for Albania men 's national league title

Tirana, Albania, April 9, 2017. One week after the end of the regular season in the women’s competition, the men’s teams competing in the Albanian national league had their last matches as well. Partizani, Studenti, Farka Volley and Vllaznia claimed the top four spots of the standings to make it to the next stage of the competition and stay in contention for the title. It was not an easy ride especially for Farka Volley and Vllaznia since Tirana and Erzeni finished fifth and sixth, respectively but they remained in contention for a spot in the semis until the end of the regular season. Tirana were fourth going into the final match but they lost the derby with Studenti to settle for fifth place in the end.

Partizani have returned to the highest division of the men’s national league for the first time in ten years and they finished on top of the pile. They can count on many experienced players and one month ago, they won the national cup already – and now they hope to crown their triumphal season with the national league title. Vllaznia are the only team not from Tirana to have made it to the Playoffs. They are also the only club currently trying to sign foreign players in order to make the battle for the title even more interesting.

Studenti will play Farka Volley in the other semi-final. Both teams play their matches in Tirana, so Volleyball fans from the Albanian capital can expect a number of exciting derbies. Studenti are trying to retain the title they won last season but Farka Volley have a very competitive team as well and can play a role in the battle for the national league title.

Albania’s Volleyball family can therefore look forward to an exciting playoff stage of the men’s national league, where all four teams are equally strong and determined to put up a fight!
