Dozens of players join first-ever Snow Volleyball tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, February 6, 2018. The Volleyball club “Smeč” from the city of Novi Grad organised a Snow Volleyball tournament this past Sunday, February 4. The tournament took place at Kozara, a mountain in western Bosnia and Herzegovina, and featured on the programme of the annual event known as “Winter Days on Kozara”. This tournament was also the first-ever Snow Volleyball competition organised in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As many as 56 Volleyball players from five clubs participated in the event, with competition in the U16 and U18 age groups as well as for senior women’s teams. In addition to teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a club from Austria took part in the tournament as well. The participants contested their matches as per the official CEV Snow Volleyball Regulations and all spectators in attendance had a good time with a number of side events organised next to the competition.

The participants had the opportunity to taste local specialties and to follow the performances of cultural and artistic associations. After the end of the tournament, the best players received awards, diplomas, and other valuable prizes.

The Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with their Volleyball clubs, will continue organising such and similar events and competitions in future as well, in order to grow the game and more specifically Snow Volleyball.
