Greek and Turkish teams claim gold at Balkan Beach Volleyball Tour

Bursa, Turkey, September 23, 2018. Konstantina Tsopoulou/Dimitra Manavi from Greece and Murat Giginoğlu/Volkan Göğtepe from Turkey crowned as champions of Balkan Beach Volleyball Tour in Bursa, Turkey on Sunday.

In the men’s main draw, it was an all-Turkish semifinals. After defeating Urlu/Özbek 2-0 (21-14, 21-17), Giginoglu/Göğtepe clashed Selçuk Sekerci/Dündar Yıldırım for the big prize. In the final it was Giginoğlu/Göğtepe again to dominate the game and they took the gold medal by 2-0 (21-17, 21-12). Mermer/Özdemir finished third.

On the women’s side, Greeks Konstantina Tsopoulou/Dimitra Manavi did not lose a single set in the last day of the competition. Thanks to two straight sets victories against Bulgarian duos Nikol Duleva/Asya Dinova in semifinal and Irena Mishonova/Svetla Angelova in final, Tsopoulou/Manavi managed to claim gold. Hosts Vence/Bahanur won bronze medal.
