Hajdaraj and Prenga awarded as Kosovo’s volleyball players of year 2017

Prishtina, Kosovo, February 15, 2018. Bardhyl Hajdaraj of KV Peja and Adelajda Prenga of KV Drita received the awards for Kosovo’s best volleyball players in 2017. The announcement came at a gala ceremony hosted by the Volleyball Federation of Kosovo, with these players receiving the highest number of votes among those cast by coaches nationwide and topping the stats from matches played in domestic competitions, in the European Cups and with the national team. KV Luboteni and KV Drita, and their respective trainers, Arsim Lohaj and Lorik Ilazi, swept the awards for the best men’s and women’s teams and for best men’s and women’s coach, respectively.

In this traditional event, the President of the Kosovo Volleyball Federation, Dr Abedin Ibrahimi, said that the country’s Volleyball family has made a great step forward, especially since Kosovo hosted in 2017 the Balkan U18 and U20 Volleyball Championship, i.e. the first zonal competitions of such calibre, while the women’s national team claimed a historic bronze medal in Balkan competitions.

Ibrahimi wished all the best for the year ahead to all players, while thanking all teams and sponsors for their hard work and commitment towards growing the game in the country.

The President of the Albanian Volleyball Federation, Mr Erlind Pellumbi and the Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of the Former Y.R. of Macedonia, Mr Zoran Karanovic, attended the gala as well as guests of honour.

The event was an opportunity to announce the winners of some 75 prizes across different categories in volleyball and beach volleyball.
