Mladost, Bimal Jedinstvo claim further domestic honours in national cup finals

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, March 22, 2019. Two teams from the city of Brčko, Bimal Jedinstvo and Mladost, recently added extra honours to their resume by claiming the 2019 edition of the women’s and men’s national cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bimal Jedinstvo needed only three sets to beat Kula GRADAČAC (25-23, 25-19, 25-10) and secure their 11th title in the women’s competition at the final tournament held in Banja Luka. In the men’s competition, Mladost recorded a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-16, 28-26) as well in the final with OK Kakanj KAKANJ to claim their sixth consecutive national cup title.

The teams of Mladost, OK KAKANJ, Majevica LOPARE and Jedinstvo BRČKO featured in the final stages of the men’s competition. As for the women’s national cup, on top of Bimal Jedinstvo and Kula, BANJA LUKA Volej and Sloboda TUZLA had reached the final four.

Bimal Jedinstvo and Mladost both represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the CEV Champions League and CEV Cup earlier this season.

The Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina would like to thank the hosts of the Finals, Mladost and Banja Luka Volej. It was the first time the club from Banja Luka played host to such an event but they did so in style, delivering a tournament of the highest standards.
