Albania and Turkiye open U21W Balkan Championship with victories

Albania and Turkiye recorded victories at the start of the U21W Balkan Championship in Tirana.

In the opening match, Turkiye secured a 3:0 win over Bulgaria in just over an hour of play (25:15, 25:12, 25:12). Bianca Mumcular was the top scorer for the winning team with 16 points, while Iva Dudova led Bulgaria with 8 points.

Albania also earned three points with a 3:1 victory over Kosovo (25:16, 25:13, 23:25, 25:13). Kejda Kodra and Irsa Medanj were among the best performers for the home team, while Klea Tajra had a strong showing with 15 points.

Monday is a rest day at the championship, and on Tuesday, Kosovo will face Bulgaria, while Albania will play against Turkiye.
