Balkan U20 Beach Volleyball Championship: Greece and Bulgaria Claim Gold

The U20 Balkan Beach Volleyball Championship was held in Greece, where the gold medals went to Greece in the women’s and Bulgaria in the men’s competition. The tournament was organized by the Greek Volleyball Federation from the 11th to the 12th of July.

In the women’s final, the Greek duo Alexoglou/Paschalaki defeated the Turkish pair Simdim/Dogan with a score of 2:0 (21:19, 21:14), securing the championship title. The bronze medal was claimed by the Moldovan team Usatova/Gherman, who beat the Greek pair Liofti/Koukouditska in straight sets 2:0 (22:20, 21:19).

In the men’s final, the Bulgarian duo Zgurov/Antov won the gold after a thrilling match against the Turkish pair Imdat/Barış, finishing 2:1 (21:19, 22:24, 17:15). The bronze medal also went to Moldova – the team of Didorciuc/Usatov overcame the Turkish duo Erol/Polat Kemal Eser in two sets 2:0 (21:19, 21:15).
