First ever Balkan Championship in Snow volleyball held in Bulgaria

Bulgaria (men) and Turkiye (women) are winners of first ever Snow Volleyball Balkan Championship which was held in Rhodopes – on Mount Perelik (Bulgaria) from 17th until 19th of March.

In women’s competition, Turkiye’s favorites, Merve Celebi, Petek Civan, Seray Gurle and Simge Yalcin, played up to expectations and grabbed the first Balkan gold in snow volleyball. They defeated Romania 2:1 (15:10, 12:15, 15:11) in the ladies’ final.

In the bronze match, Bulgaria (1) defeated Bulgaria (2) 2:0 (15:13, 15:8) and won the first ever international medal for Bulgaria.

Earlier in the semifinals, Turkiye defeated Bulgaria (1) 2:0 (15:8, 16:14), and Romania beat Bulgaria (2)  2:0 (15:12, 15:11).

In men’s competitions, golden medal won Bulgaria (1) National team – Vilian Hadzhiev, Georgi Fisinski and Nikola Lazarov.

In the semifinal, Bulgaria (1) defeated Bulgaria (2) by 2:1 (11:15, 15:11, 15:6), then in a spectacular final, they also achieved a turn against Romania and won gold after 2:1 (9:15, 15:11. 15:13).

Previously, the Romanians surprised Turkiye with 2:1 (12:15, 15:11, 15:11) in the second semifinal. Turkiye took bronze 2:1 (15:9, 9:15, 15:8) over Bulgaria (2).
