Galatasaray Daikin won BVA Cup 2024

Galatasaray Daikin became the champion of the 2024 Women’s Volleyball Balkan Cup. On the third and final day of the tournament, which was hosted in Istanbul, the Turkish team defeated the Greek team PAOK 3:0 (25:17, 25:21, 25:20) to claim the Balkan championship title. PAOK won second place and the silver medal.

With this result, Galatasaray Daikin earned the right to participate in the CEV Challenge Cup. In the 32nd Finals Round of the CEV Challenge Cup, will play with Greece’s AO Thiras.

In another match played last day in the Balkan Cup,  ZOK Igman from Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated KV Drita from Kosovo 3:0 (25:17, 25:17, 25:13).

At the ceremony held after the Galatasaray Daikin – PAOK match, individual awards were presented. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament was Katarina Lazović from Galatasaray Daikin.

Best libero: Eylül Akarçeşme (Galatasaray Daikin)
Fair Play Enver Göçener Award: Eleni Baka (PAOK)

The trophies, medals, and awards for the top teams were presented by TVF President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ, TVF Vice President Selahattin Süleymanoğlu, TVF Board Member Kazım Şahin Gürkan, TVF Men’s National Teams Coordinator Semih Oktay, Galatasaray SK Vice President Mehmet Cibara, Galatasaray SK Board Member Timur Kuban, and IBB Sports Club Secretary General Erdem Aslanoğlu.
