Steaua București close to BVA Cup title

Volleyball fans in Kakanj witnessed a true sporting spectacle on Saturday night, as two dramatic matches delivered comebacks, intensity, and top-level action in the BVA Cup.

Romanian side Steaua București took a major step toward winning the BVA Cup after recording their second victory—this time against Greece’s OFI Crete with a 3–1 win (25:23, 17:25, 31:29, 27:25).

The excitement continued in the second match of the evening, where Turkey’s SC Ankara claimed their first triumph, defeating the home team OK Kakanj, also by 3–1 (20:25, 25:20, 25:18, 31:29).

After two days of competition, Steaua București leads the standings with two wins, while OFI Crete and SC Ankara each have one victory. The Kakanj team is still searching for their first success in the tournament.

The final day of play will decide the champion and the team that earns a spot in the CEV Challenge Cup. SC Ankara will face OFI Crete at 17.30h, while the tournament will conclude between hosts Kakanj and the leading Steaua București at 20h.
