Milutin Popovic new BVA President, Balkan volleyball family made important decisions

26th BVA General Assembly was held today in Tirana in organization of Volleyball Federation Albania and with great hospitality from VF Albania President Mr. Erlind PELLUMBI.

CEV President Mr. Roko SIKIRIC, CEV First Vice-President Ivan KNEZEVIC, CEV Managing Director Mr. Vuk KARANOVIC, Croatian Volleyball Federation President and MEVZA Sports Director Mr. Frane ZANIC, Croatian Volleyball Federation Director and MEVZA President Mrs. Valentina BIFFLIN attended BVA Assembly as guests while 10 from 11 member federation’s representatives were present.

During the Assembly, important topics have been discussed. Summer indoor and beach volleyball events with age limits have been defined and also updates on financial and competition matters have been decided.

2025 BVA Indoor national team events’ age categories:

  • U21M – 1 January 2005 and after
  • U21W – 1 January 2005 and after
  • U19M – 1 January 2007 and after
  • U19W – 1 January 2007 and after
  • U16M – 1 January 2010 and after
  • U16W – 1 January 2010 and after

General Assembly also made decision to allow to Volleyball Federation Malta to participate with national teams in BVA Competitions.

It is expected that all participants and organizers are defined by the end of February 2025.

The members of the BVA Assembly unanimously decided to move the BVA office to Belgrade, Serbia.

According to the decision of the Assembly, new President of the BVA will be Mr. Milutin POPOVIC from Bosnia & Herzegovina and new Vice President of the BVA will be Mr. Georgios KARAMPETSOS from Greece.

27th BVA General Assembly will be held in January 2026 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
