The U16 Balkan Championship for girls has started in Pljevlja. On the first day of the competition, victories were recorded by the national teams of Bulgaria against Greece and Montenegro against North Macedonia.
Bulgaria secured a 3:1 win over Greece, with a final score of 3:1 (25:21, 22:25, 27:25, 25:23). The team was led by Andriana Goleva and Antonia Stanislavova, who each scored 14 points. For Greece, the top scorer was Foteini Eirini Kantania with 14 points.
In the second match, the host team celebrated a straight-sets victory: 25:11, 25:14, 25:23. The most effective player for the winning team was Elena Jovanović with 7 points. For North Macedonia, Ana Dora Olevska and Sofija Stefanovska each scored 7 points.
