The Turkish U16 National team has qualified for the U16 European Championship after achieving four victories in first round of the zonal qualifiers in Alanya. Turkiye is first in the standings with all four wins and has directly qualified. Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia will continue in the second round of the competition which will held in April.
On the final day of the competition, Greece defeated Romania and finished the qualifiers in second place with three wins and one loss. Bulgaria is in third place with a balanced record, having been defeated by Turkiye on the final day. Romania is in fourth place with one win and three losses. Serbia was free and ended the tournament without a victory.
Greece won against Romania 3:1 (22:25, 25:23, 25:23, 25:21). The best player of the match was Greek Emmanouil Outzis with 19 points, followed by his teammate Nikolaos Pachakis with 18 points, and Stefanos Pachiadakis with 16 points. For Romania, Gabriel Alexandru Apostu scored 18 points.
Turkiye triumphed over Bulgaria 3:0 (25:21, 25:16, 25:20). Turkiye was led Selim Atilla Kose with 12 points, while Bulgaria’ Ivaylo Kolev and Milko Bagdasarov each scored 8 points.
