The U18W Balkan Championship started today in Tirana, Albania. The first day of the competition was successful for Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkiye, and North Macedonia.
The tournament began with the match Serbia – Montenegro, which ended in favor of Serbia with a score of 3:1 (13:25, 25:19, 25:20, 25:19) in pool B. Milana Stanković led Serbia to victory with 13 points, and Lana Rakocevic scored the most points for the Montenegro team – 12.
Turkiye also recorded a victory against Moldova with a maximum score in the same group 3:0 (25:6, 25:14, 25:5). The best players in the Turkish team were Aylin Uzsclan and Evsen Kubra with 9 points, while in team Moldova Xenia Saliuta won 4.
Today, Bulgaria and North Macedonia also celebrated victories in pool A. The Bulgarians were better than Romania with a score of 3:0 (25:16, 26:24, 25:15), and North Macedonia triumphed over Albania 3:1 (25:23, 25:20, 24:26, 25:16).
Denitsa Angelova was the best player in the Bulgarian team with 16 points, for Romania Cucu Bianca Gabriel won 12.
For the Macedonian team the best scorer was Ivana Mileva with 19 points, on the other side Irisa Metanj was the best with 20 points.
