Budva crowned Montenegrin champions for seventh straight season

OK Budva convincingly defended their Montenegrin championship title by defeating Budućnost 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-15) in the third match of the EPCG Super League final series. This way, Budva claimed their seventh consecutive national championship crown, thereby solidifying their status as the most successful Montenegrin volleyball team in history.

Their most experienced player and captain, Balša Radunović, played a pivotal role, as he scored 13 points – three more than the young opposite hitter, Vasilije Milenković. On the Budućnost side, Aleksa Nikolić stood out with 14 points.

The championship trophy was awarded to Budva captain Balša Radunović by the President of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG), Nikola Kažić.

Gold medals were presented to Budva’s players and coaching staff by the Mayor of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, and the President of the Budva Municipal Assembly, Petar Odžić. Silver medals were awarded to the runner-up team, Budućnost, including players and the staff led by coach Dejan Radić, by the director of men’s national teams at OSCG, Ivan Ječmenica, and Budućnost’s Sports Director, Zoran Vukčević.

Awards were also given to match officials Predrag Beljkaš and Sonja Simonovska, as well as to supervisor Anka Ivanović, all presented by OSCG Competitions Director Nikola Pješčić.

Before the season concludes, the Montenegrin club volleyball scene will feature the women’s EPCG Super League playoff final and the relegation/promotion playoff for a spot in the top division.
