Volleyball fans could enjoy an all-Romanian semifinal in the CEV Volleyball Cup 2023 – Women. In the decisive game CS Volei Alba Blaj prevailed 3-1 over C.S.M.Targoviste and will play for the trophy with Savino Del Bene Scandicci.
CS Volei Alba Blaj – C.S.M. Targoviste 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 25-20)
CS Volei Alba Blaj defeated C.S.M. Targoviste in straight sets in their first battle a week ago and were determined to on their mission in front of the home crowd at Sala Sporturilor TIRGU MURES. But also the players from Targoviste were extremely motivated to fight for a spot in the final. Thus, they battled it out through four exciting sets.
The teams know each other very well from the domestic league, so the encounter was pretty balanced in all components. Blaj was slightly better in block (10-8) and the biggest difference in this element was made by Jovana Kocić who recorded 5 blocking stuffs. She added to it also 6 successful attacks and with 11 points to her name was awarded MVP title. C.S.M. Targoviste impressed with their performance from service line – 7 aces (Denisa Ionescu and Maria Matei served 3 apiece), but they committed far more own mistakes (22-15) and it’s safe to say that these errors had a significant impact on the result.
On Blaj’s side Gergana Dimitrova tallied 14 points, once Didona Zadrojnai from Targoviste was the best scorer of the match with 16 points.
The final between CS Volei Alba Blaj and Savino Del Bene Scandicci will determine the winner of the #CEVCupW 2023.
