The Volleyball Federation of North Macedonia has further expanded the reach of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ across the Balkan country.

Back in mid-February, the sports hall of OU Goce Delchev in the city of Vasilevo did welcome a volleyball festival organised by OK Macedonia Gio under the leadership of physical education teacher Alma Hasanova. About 20 children aged 10-13 participated in the event. They already had some knowledge of the volleyball game, and therefore they did perform drills of a slightly more complex nature than usual.

Later in February, another such event was held in the sports hall of the Gjoce Stojchevski school in Tetovo. This action was run by OK Bami Kor in cooperation with the professor of physical education Milan Ristovski, who is also a volleyball coach. About 30 children aged from six to 10 attended the meeting and had the opportunity to perform interesting exercises for the development of their motor skills, using auxiliary tools such as hoops, ladders, markers, but also performing basic elements of the volleyball game. Some of the exercises were of a competitive nature, which children especially seem to enjoy.

In the coming weeks, school competitions will be organised in North Macedonia, in addition to some other ‘local’ activities. The local Project Manager, Sanja Nikcevic, hopes that the enthusiasm and joy shown by the children and teachers so far will not stop, but on the contrary, their desire to get to know Volleyball will become even greater.
