Historic General Assembly in Istanbul

24th Balkan Volleyball Association General Assembly took place today at hotel “Conrad Bosphorus” in Istanbul, with presence of Mr. Aleksandar Boricic, CEV President and Mr. Renato Arena, CEV Senior Vice President.

BVA President Mr. Akif Ustundag in opening speech expressed his proud to host Mr. Boricic and Mr. Arena and all members of BVA General Assembly in Türkiye. He sent his gratitude to all for their support to the eartquake happened month ago.

President of BVA Mr. Akif Ustundag informed all members of finding two sponsors for the Balkan Volleyball Association: ‘Acibadem Health Groups’ and ‘Biletinial’.

General Assembly started with signing ceremony of the sponsorship agreement with ‘Acibadem Health Groups’.

Mr. Ustundag sent his special thanks and appreciation to the owner of the “Acibadem Health Groups” Mr. Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, for his great dedication to volleyball as always.

“Thanks to Mr Aydinlar volleyball grows bigger and bigger each day”, said Mr Ustundag.

BVA introduced “Acibadem MVP Trophy” for most valuable players on Balkan Championships, starting from this year.

“Acibadem Healthcare Groups” and “Biletinial” – new members of Balkan Volleyball family!

Other sponsor ‘Biletinial’ made a presentation to all members about their company.

The CEO of the Biletinial, Mr. Ulas Uslu was proud to support Balkan Volleyball Association.

Mr. President Ustundag also informed the members that third sponsor can join the family very soon.

Mr. Boricic expressed his happiness to see such organization, the quality and the level being as high as World and Europe Congresses and that Balkan Region being one of the strongest and hard working association. He thanked once again the great dedication of Mr. Ustundag for better tomorrow around the region. He told to the members of BVA:

’Today is a historical day for the BVA because BVA is growing with sponsors and first time in history a regional association is organizing Snow Volleyball. I want to thank Bulgaria for their organization.’

Mr. Boricic has also informed members that Malta Volleyball Federation wants to be a member of the Balkan Volleyball Association. Members evaluated and after receiving the official letter by Malta, they will reply about their decisions. All members found the membership of Malta Volleyball Federation positive and to grow as the Association positive.

BVA General Assembly decided that new BVA President will be Lubomir Ganev, president of Volleyball Federation Bulgaria, while BVA Vice Presidents will be Erlind Pellumbi, President of Volleyball Federation Albania and Milutin Popovic, President of Volleyball Federation Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Next BVA General Assembly will be held in Sofia next year.

2023 Indoor events and participating countries were confirmed. U17M and U17W, U19M and U19W and U21W events will take place during summer period.

Beach Volleyball Events will be discussed during the online meeting and all events and participants will be confirmed.
