U20M: Turkiye, Greece, and Bulgaria celebrated at the opening

The U20 Men’s Balkan Volleyball Championship started today in Vrnjacka Banja. The first day of the competition ended with victories for Bulgaria, Turkiye, and Greece.

In the first match, Albania took one set from Turkiye, but the Turkish team celebrated a 3:1 (23:25, 25:18, 25:17, 25:14) victory. Bulgaria also secured a win in Pool B with maximum results against Moldova 3:0 (25:10, 25:15, 25:14).

In Pool A, Greece achieved a maximum score against North Macedonia 3:0 (25:15, 25:11, 25:9). The Serbian team had a day off.

On Wednesday, Turkiye and Moldova will play at 15h, Albania and Bulgaria at 20h in Pool B,  while North Macedonia and Serbia will play at 17.30h in Pool A. The Greece has a day off.

From Wednesday U20 Men Balkan Championship in Serbia

The U20 Men Balkan Championship 2024 will be played from the 13th to the 17th of August in Vrnjacka Banja and organized by the Volleyball Federation of Serbia.

On the U20 Men competition participants are hots team Serbia, Greece, and North Macedonia in pool A, and Bulgaria, Albania, Moldova and Turkiye in pool B.

Greek and Romanian Teams Won U22 Balkan Championship in North Macedonia

Venios Konstantinos and Karykas Antonios from Greece in the men’s competition, and Hododi Ioana and Miu Ioana from Romania in the women’s competition, are the winners of the U22 Balkan Beach Championship held in North Macedonia.

In the men’s final, the Greek pair defeated the team from Moldova, Simon Egor Dobcis and Sergiu Plamadeala, with a score of 2:1 (21:13, 17:21, 15:13). The Turkish pair claimed the third place Ahmet Can Tur and Tuna Imadat, who won against Mihai Muresan and Iannia Alb with a score of 2:0 (24:22, 21:17).

In the women’s competition, the team Romania 1 triumphed over the Turkish pair Sayra Ceylin and Simidim Su with a score of 2:0 (21:10, 21:4). Third place was secured by Eleni Alexoglou and Myrto Paschalaki from Greece, who defeated Svetlana Luhonja and Tajša Laković from Bosnia and Herzegovina with a score of 2:0 (21:11, 21:7).

U22 Beach BVA Championship from Friday to Sunday in North Macedonia

The U22 Balkan beach championship (players born in 2003 and later) for Men and Women will be played from the 9th to the 11th of August, in Novo Selo, North Macedonia.

On the U22 Balkan Championship in Novi Selo, will participate eight male and seven female pairs from seven countries – Turkiye, Moldova, Greece, Kosovo, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the host North Macedonia. The first competition day is on Friday with group matches and the opening ceremony at 20:30h. Group matches play is also planned on Saturday, and the elimination phase on Sunday.

MATCH SCHEDULE:

Saturday, 10th August

Group stage (09:00h – 22:30h)

Sunday, 11th August

Quarter-finals (08:30h – 12:30h)

Semi-final, bronze match and final (16:30h – 20:30h)
