Turkish team winner of senior Balkan Beach Volleyball Championship

Senior Balkan Beach Championship 2024 for men and women at Ören Beach in Balikesir, Türkiye has ended.

The team from Turkiye Özdemi/Kuru and the team from Netherlands Driessen/de Jong (Zonal Association) are winners of the Senior Men & Women Beach Volleyball Balkan Championship 2024.

In the men’s final, Turkish team Özdemi/Kuru beat Greek duo Kanellos/Ioannidis, with a score of 2:0 and claimed the Balkan Championship.

The third place in the men’s category was secured by the Greek players Sideris/Antiol Kola, who defeated the Romanian pair Grigore/Popa with a score of 2:0.

In the women’s category, the champion was Driessen/de Jong duo from the Netherlands, who defeated Triantafyllidi/Manavi duo from Greece 2:0. The third place went to Finland’s Nirhamo/Viitala duo, who defeated Romania’s Stanciu/Ordean duo 2:0.

At the ceremony held after the final matches, medals and trophies were presented by the members of the TVF Executive Board Metin Mengüç, the mayor of Burhaniye Ali Kemal Deveciler, the deputy mayor of Burhaniye Oktay Erbalaban, the director of the Department of Youth and Sports in Burhaniye Aslan Alparslan, the director of the Sports Department in the Municipality of Balikesir Uğur Baysal, the president of the Sports Club Balikesir Büyükşehir Burç Özoğuz, and the technical delegate of the BVA Tosho Stoyanov.

From Thursday to Sunday Senior Balkan Beach Volleyball Championship in Türkiye

Senior Balkan Beach Championship 2024 for men and women will be played from the 9th until the 12th of May at Ören Beach in Balikesir, Türkiye.

In the women’s competition will play teams Triantafyllidi/Manavi from Greece, Alexoglou/Paschalaki from Greece, Nezir/Tecimer from Türkiye, Stanciu/Ordean from Romania, Ceylin/Simdin from Türkiye, Driessen/De Jong from The Netherlands (Zonal Association), Miu/Baciu from Romania, Merce/Sencel from Türkiye, Nirhamo/Viitala from Finland (Zonal Association), Idil/Sahin from Türkiye, Demirkiran/Nehir from Türkiye and Akyuz/Apaydin from Türkiye.

In the men’s competition will play teams Mermer/Sacit from Türkiye, Kanellos/Ioannidis from Greece, Yusuf/Batuhan from Türkiye, Dobcis/Korsakov from Moldova, Plamdeala/Voleanin from Moldova, Ahmet Can/Tuna from Türkiye, Bratosin/Hupoiu from Romania, Sideris/Antiol Kola from Greece, Tsigaridas/Kafouros from Greece, Grigore/Popa from Romania, Burak/Ege Can from Türkiye, Makaric/Muskinja from Serbia., Erol/Baris from Türkiye and Kesgin/Turkel from Türkiye.

Bulgaria, Romania, Turkiye, Greece and Serbia on U18 European Championship

The second round of  U18 qualifications has ended in both genders, involving Balkan countries, including the tournament organizers, and all participants of the European Championship are now known.

Serbia was the host of the pool B U18 Women tournament, and Kosovo was the host of pool E for U20 Men.

The teams that have qualified for the U18M European Championship are Bulgaria (host), Romania, Turkiye and Greece from the Balkan, as well as Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Austria, Ukraine, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Slovenia, Poland, France and Italy.

The U18M  European Championship (players born in 2007 and younger) will take place in Sofia and Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from the 10th to July 21st of July 2024.

Two teams from each of the five groups have qualified for the European Championship from the second round of qualifications. Sixteen teams will compete in the European Championship, divided into two groups of eight teams each. The matches will follow a round-robin point system, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

In the women’s competition, the teams that have qualified for the U18W European Championship from the Balkan are Romania (host), Greece, Turkiye, Serbia, Bulgaria, as well as, Finland, Croatia, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Spain, Slovenia and Lithuania.

U18W European Championship (girls born in 2007 and younger) will be held in Blaj, Romania, and Heraklion, Crete, Greece, from 1st to July 13th of July 2024.

At the U18W European Championship, 16 teams will compete, divided into two groups of 8 teams each. The matches will follow a round-robin point system, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

Türkiye, Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece to represent Balkan on U20 European Championships

The second round of qualifications for the U20 European Championship was played last weekend, involving Balkan countries, including the tournament organizers.

Serbia was the host of the pool A U20 Women tournament, and Montenegro was the host of pool E for U20 Men.

Qualification for the Final Round of U20 European Championship was secured by the winners of 5 groups and the top 4 second-placed teams in the 2nd Round of women’s competition, and the winners of 5 groups and the top 3 second-placed teams in the 2nd Round of men’s competition.

On the U20 Men European Championship 2024 from Balkan will play Serbia, Greece (hosts), Bulgaria and Türkiye, as well as Czech Republic, Latvia, Ukraine, Austria, Spain, Israel, Italy, Finland, Slovenia, Poland, France, Scotland.

U20 Men European Championship 2024 (players born in 2005 and younger) will take place in Vrnjačka Banja (Serbia) and Arta (Greece), from August 26th to September 7th. The semifinal matches, as well as the medal matches, will be held in Vrnjačka Banja.

For the U20 European Championship in women’s competition from Balkan qualified national teams of Bulgaria (host), Türkiye and Serbia, as well as Ireland (organizer), Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Croatia, Poland, Italy, Ukraine, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Portugal.

The U20 Women European Championship 2024 (players born in 2005 and younger) will take place in Sofia (Bulgaria) and Dublin (Ireland), from August 5th to 17th.

Sixteen teams will compete in the Final Round of U20 ECH, divided into two groups of eight teams each. The matches will be played under a round-robin points system, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
