U17M: Türkiye, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania in semifinals

The 3rd day of U17M Balkan Championship in Albania is ended. Türkiye will play in semifinal against Romania, while Bulgaria will play against Serbia in the second semifinals.

In classification from 5th place to 7th place will play  Montenegro against North Macedonia, and better in this match will play for 5th place with Albania.

Bulgaria in pool B defeated Montenegro 3:0 (25:12, 25:5, 25:20) and take first place in the pool. In Bulgarian team, the best was, Nicola Konstatinov, while for Montenegro 7 points won Luka Lojic.

Türkiye achieved all victories in pool A, taking first place. In the last game of pool phase, the Turkish team defeated North Macedonia 3:0. In the winning team Cata Unver won 12 points, on the other side, 10 won Toshe Efremov.

Serbia defeated Albania 3:0 (25:12, 25:13, 25:22), take second place in pool A and placed in the semifinal.

MATCH SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY, 8TH JULY:

Classification: North Macedonia – Montenegro (15.30h)

Semifinal (1): Bulgaria – Serbia (18.00h)

Semifinal (2): Türkiye- Romania (20.30h)

U17M: Bulgaria, Serbia and Türkiye were successful on second day of competition

On the second day of the pool phase of the U17M Balkan competition, Bulgaria and Serbia achieved the first victory, while Türkiye celebrated 2nd time.

Bulgaria overcome Romania after two hours of the game, 3:2 (21:25, 31:33, 25:19, 25:15, 16:14).  In the Bulgarian team, stood out Zhasmin Velichkov with 26 points and Petyo Ivanom with 22 points, while in Romanian team they were Stefan Catalin with 24 and Ioan Verciuc with 18 points.

Serbia celebrated for the first time after they defeated North Macedonia 3:0 (25:16, 25:13, 25:14) in pool A. Andrej Aleksic was the best in the winning team with 13 points, while Vuk Kulpinac and Aleksa Bogosavljevic scored 11 points each. For the Macedonian team, Damjan Minevski won 7 points.

In the same pool, Türkiye beat Albania 3:0 (25:14, 25:9, 25:16). With 14 points Demir Uzunca led the Turkish team to victory. Mateo Begotaraj, BJorni Sejdini and Marsel Hoxha won 4 points each.

The Montenegro team had a rest day in pool B.

Montenegro – Bulgaria (15.30h)

Turkiye – North Macedonia (18.00h)

Serbia – Albania (20.30h)

School Project activities successfully completed in North Macedonia

On Saturday, June 10, a special gathering was held at the Forza sports centre in Skopje to mark the end of the school year.

Teams from several elementary schools participated in the event and enjoyed socialising and competing. Every child who took part in the event was overjoyed. Some 15 matches were played, and more than 30 children aged seven to 12 participated, all obviously enjoying themselves.

With this event, the Volleyball Federation of North Macedonia have concluded their programme of School Project activities for the school year 2022/2023. These will resume in September, and the organisers hope that the project will be even more successful in every sense.

Gold medal for Greece on U17W Balkan Championship

Greece is the winner of the U17 Women Balkan Champion which was held in Vrnjacka Banja, the silver medal won Turkiye, while the bronze medal won Bulgaria.

Greece was better in the final match against Turkiye 3:2 and won golden medal. Dmitra Nanou with 20 points was the best in the wining team, 17 won Elpida Tikmanidou, for the Turkish team Ceylin and Ceyda  Kuyan were the best with 15 and 17 points.

In the bronze medal match, Bulgaria beat Serbia 3:1 (25:22, 25:20, 20:25, 25:22). For Bulgaria, Kalina Veneva was the best with 13 points, on the other side was Mina Mihajlovic with 10 points.

In classification from 5th to 8 places, Romania defeated Montenegro in match for 5th place 3:0 (25:21, 25:15, 25:17) and North Macedonia beat Moldova 3:1 (23:25, 25:21, 25:13, 25:11) in match for sixth place.

Individual awards:

The MVP of the U17 Women Balkan Championship was Dimitra Nanou from Greece.

The best setter of U17 Women Balkan Championship was Dimitra Paoathansiou from Greece.

The best middle blocker of  U17 Women Balkan Championship was Begum Kacmaz from Turkiye.

The best outside hitter of the U17 Women Balkan Championship was Ceylin Kuyan from Turkiye.

The best opposite of the U17 Women Balkan Championship was Ceyda Kuyan from Turkiye.

The best libero of the U17 Women Balkan Championship was Erini Bitsaktsi from Greece.

The Fer play team was Serbia.
