Serbia celebrated a dramatic victory over Bulgaria in one of the most thrilling matches of the tournament, while host nation Montenegro secured a place in the semifinals without losing a single set.
Earlier in the day, Türkiye comfortably defeated Kosovo, then anxiously awaited the outcome of the match between hosts Montenegro and Romania. For Kosovo, the defeat marked the end of their tournament campaign.
Montenegro took control early against Romania, racing to a 2–0 lead after two highly competitive and exciting sets. That advantage was enough for the hosts to clinch first place in the group, while simultaneously securing Türkiye progression to the semifinals. Even after rotating their lineup, Montenegro maintained their dominance and closed out the match in straight sets, preserving their perfect record.
The final match of the day, and undoubtedly the most captivating one, saw Serbia edge past Bulgaria in a tense encounter that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.
The tournament continues on Tuesday with the semifinal matches, as well as the playoff for fifth place.
In the first semifinal, Montenegro will face Bulgaria at 6:00 PM local time. The second semifinal, scheduled for 8:30 PM, will feature a clash between Serbia and Türkiye.
Tuesday’s program will open with the fifth-place match between Romania and Greece. That duel will also determine which of the two teams advances to the second round of the qualification process.
