The Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina joined with much enthusiasm the #1DayMore4Volleyball action organised by the CEV in conjunction with this year’s leap day.

The organisation joined forces with their regional bodies, i.e. the Volleyball Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Volleyball Federation of the Republika Srpska to invite all volleyball clubs and schools to take part in the action, promoting it extensively through their social media channels. Many cities, clubs and schools across Bosnia and Herzegovina eventually enjoyed the experience, as more than 250 matches were played in around 15 cities of the Balkan country with over 2,000 participants in total.

Volleyball community growing at steady pace in Moldova

by Press 06/03/2024
written by Press

While preparing to join this year’s #1DayMore4Volleyball, the Volleyball Federation of the Republic of Moldova has further spread the passion for the game with the help of the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’.

In early February, they did deliver a workshop for physical education teachers in the eastern part of our country, more specifically in the city of Criuleni. As many as twenty-nine teachers from 24 schools participated in this seminar. Slowly but surely and with each month, the volleyball community of the Balkan country is growing.

Moreover, February coincided with the delivery of as many as 42 matches in the mini volley school league. This competition has driven great interest from schools across the country and the organisers are confident that this will soon become one of the most significant mass participation events held in Moldova.

written by Press

February was filled with youth volleyball activities in Albania. Volleyball school teams participating in the project jointly run by the National Olympic Committee and the Albanian Volleyball Federation organised an impressive number of friendly matches. Young boys and girls showed much enthusiasm as they played Volleyball for their school. Some 28 teams contested matches throughout the past month as per the schedule arranged by their respective coaches and PE teachers.

Moreover, the Albanian Volleyball Federation joined the #1DayMore4Volleyball action promoted by the CEV in conjunction with this year’s leap day (February 29). The initiative was extensively promoted through the social media channels run by the Albanian Volleyball Federation. The National Olympic Committee shared the link to the registration page as well to involve as many coaches and schools as possible.

Activities were organised across Albania in places such as Vlorë, Tirana, Korçë, Lezhë, Elbasan, and Lushnjë – thereby aiming to promote Volleyball as much as possible and to have a large participation especially of school age kids. Some 500 pupils were eventually mobilised and involved in the Balkan country on one single day.

#1DayMore4Volleyball involves hundreds of youngsters in Montenegro

by Press 06/03/2024
written by Press

The activities run by the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) in conjunction with the CEV School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’ and more specifically the so-called Free Volleyball School have resumed after the winter break and will continue until the end of the school year.

Training sessions have resumed in schools with the participation of some 150 young boys. Two youngsters who began their volleyball journey through the project, Luka Rovčanin and Almin Kujovic, along with their club Jedinstvo from Bijelo Polje, have recently claimed first place at the final tournament of the Montenegrin Junior Volleyball Championship held in Podgorica.

The second stage of the EKO Mini Volleyball league has continued according to the regular schedule. In the previous phase, matches were contested over seven weekends, with over 800 children participating across all three categories.

As far as the #1DayMore4Volleyball action is concerned, a tournament involving teams from cities participating in the Free Volleyball School project was held in Bijelo Polje. About 100 boys from five cities and nine different schools participated in the event. The winners in the category of younger boys up until the age of 12 was the combined team of Berane and Pljevlja. Five teams participated in the competition for older boys, with Berane beating Bijelo Polje 2-0 in the final match. Danilo Senic, a youngster from Berane born in 2010, was declared the best player of the tournament, and was presented with an official tracksuit of the Montenegrin national team.

Other actions run in conjunction with #1DayMore4Volleyball included the derby from the 10th round of the national league between the clubs of Budva and Buducnost, matches of the EKO mini volleyball league, youth national championships, and other events organised by the women’s teams of Gimnazijalac, Galeb Liko Soho Group, Top Volley, Budva, and Tempo, and at the Tisa Daily Centre in Bijelo Polje.
