U18 Men Zonal Qualifications in Strumica

U18 Men 1st Round of Qualification for European Championship 2024 will be played in North Macedonia in Strumica between 18 – 21 January.

On the BVA Zonal Qualification tournament for this under-age category will play Greece, Kosovo and North Macedonia in pool A and Serbia, Romania and Turkiye in pool B.

After the pool stage is completed, a final match will be played between the winners of both groups, which will determine the participant from BVA for the U18 Men European Championship 2024.

In the second round of Qualifications can play maximum of 4 national teams from the Balkan Volleyball Association (BVA). The second Round of Qualifications will take place from 11th to 14th April, and the draw will be conducted in February 2024.

The U18 Men European Championship 2024 will be held in Sofia and Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from July 10 to 21, 2024.

Bulgaria hosts U18 Women Zonal Qualifications

U18 BVA Zonal Qualifications for the European Championship 2024 in women’s competition will be played 17-21 January in Sofia.

On the tournament, which is 1st Round of CEV Qualifications organized by BVA, five National teams will play in 2 pools. In pool A will play Bulgaria and Kosovo, while in pool B Serbia, Turkiye and North Macedonia will confront each other. After latest information that Romania will be co-hosting the Finals of the U18 Women European Championship 2024, they will not play in the Qualifiers. For this reason, Pool A consists of two teams and Pool B of three.

Winner of the BVA Zonal qualifiers will claim a place in the Final Round of the U18 Women CEV European Championship 2024.

In the second round of Qualifications a maximum 4 national teams from BVA can play. The 2nd Round of Qualifications will take place from 11th to 14th April, and the draw will be conducted in February 2024.

Bulgaria qualified for U20 Men European Championship 2024

U20 National team of Bulgaria secured a direct placement in the 2024 European Championship after celebrating victory in the last match of the first round of qualifications against Romania.

Bulgarians triumphed against Montenegro with a score of 3:1, then after a thrilling match against Turkiye with a score of 3:2, and against the host Romania with a score of 3:1. Turkiye won today against Montenegro with a score of 3:0, marking their second victory in the tournament,  and awaited the result of the match between Romania and Bulgaria, upon which its placement for the European Championship depended.

Montenegro, Turkiye, and Romania will have another chance to qualify for the final tournament in the second round of qualifications which will be played from April 4 to April 7.

U20M: Bulgaria won thriller against Türkiye, first win for the host

The second day of the 1st Round of Zonal qualifications for the U20 European Championship has concluded, with victories claimed by Bulgaria and Romania.

In the first match of the day, Bulgaria achieved their second win, after they defeated Turkiye after five sets 3:2 (29:31, 25:20, 21:25, 25:18, 15:12) and an exciting game. Outstanding in the Turkish jersey, Dogan Karakoc scored an impressive 22 points, while in the victorious team, Aleksandar Kandev excelled with just one point less.

In the second game, Romania beat Montenegro 3:0 (25:22, 25:19, 25:19) securing a win with the maximum result. David Emilian Taranu Runcan again was the best in the Romanian team with 17  points. For Montenegro, 10 points were won by Lazar Cimbaljević and Vuk Stanojević.
