U16M: Romania celebrated first win, Turkiye remains undefeated

Romania and Turkiye celebrated victories on the fourth day of 1st zonal qualification tournament in Alanya. Romania recorded their first win, while Turkiye maintained their winning streak. Bulgaria had a rest day.

Romania secured their first victory in a hard-fought match against Serbia, winning 3:2 (19:25, 25:17, 25:27, 26:24, 15:13). For the winning team the best player was Constantin Materi Mihaila, who scored 27 points, while Serbia’s best player was Kosta Tancic with 16 points.

Turkiye claimed their third victory and remained the only undefeated team. In the 4th round, they defeated Greece 3:1 (25:27, 25:17, 25:23, 25:20). Turkiye’s latest win was led by Selim Atilla Kose, who scored 22 points. In the Greek team, Nikolaos Pachakis with 14 points, Emmanouil Outzis with 13 points, and Stefanos Pachiadakis with 12 points stood out.

On the final day of the first round of qualifications, Romania will face Greece, and Bulgaria will play against Turkiye. Serbia will have a day off.

Turkiye and Bulgaria remain unbeaten, Montenegro secures second win

On the third day of the qualifiers in Sofia, Turkiye and Bulgaria recorded their 3rd victories, while Montenegro secured their second.

In the day’s opening match, Montenegro defeated Romania 3:1 (10:25, 25:18, 25:22, 26:24). Klara Đukić led Montenegro’s victory with 21 points and Elena Jovanović with 20. Romania’s Bianca Gabriela Cucu had an outstanding game, scoring an impressive 37 points.

Bulgaria claimed their third consecutive victory with a dominant 3:0 win over Greece (25:18, 25:15, 25:2). The top scorer for the hosts was Darina Ivanova with 14 points, while Dorothea Christina Karagkouti stood out for Greece with 9 points.

In the last match, featuring five thrilling sets, Turkiye came back to defeat Serbia 3:2 (22:25, 20:25, 25:17, 25:21, 15:13), remaining unbeaten in the tournament. Lara Mercan Atasoy shone for the Turkish team with 21 points, while Serbia’s Andjelija Tadić delivered an exceptional performance, scoring 32 points.

Saturday’s schedule includes matches between Romania and Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia, and Turkey and Montenegro.

Greece and Turkiye claim victories on third day in Alanya

On the third day of competition in Alanya, Greece and Turkiye secured victories against Bulgaria and Serbia.

In an exciting match, Greece triumphed after five sets against Bulgaria, 3:2 (25:27, 22:25, 25:21, 30:28, 19:17), continuing their winning streak. Nikolaos Pachakis led his team with 21 points, while Krastin Ilov was the top scorer for Bulgaria with 18 points.

The host team, Turkiye, also recorded their second victory. On the third day, they defeated Serbia in four sets, 3:1 (25:10, 26:28, 25:19, 25:23). Atilla Selim Köse stood out for the winning team with 19 points, while Strahinja Sekulić shone for Serbia with an impressive 23 points.

On Saturday, Romania will face Serbia, and Greece will play against Turkiye, while Bulgaria has a rest day.

U16W: Bulgaria won thriller against Montenegro, wins for Turkiye and Serbia

On the second day of U16W qualifiers in Sofia, only Turkiye managed to win without dropping a set, defeating Romania. Bulgaria and Montenegro played a five-set match, while Serbia celebrated a four-set victory over Greece.

Turkiye triumphed over Bulgaria (25:22, 25:17, 25:13), securing their second win. They were led by Ecrin Selis Turkayasar, who scored 15 points, while on the other side, Bianca Gabriela Cucu recorded 19 points.

The drama of the day was the match between Bulgaria and Montenegro. After a thrilling battle, the home team emerged victorious with a score of 3:2 (25:23, 21:25, 25:22, 22:25, 15:13). The Bulgarian team also claimed their second win. The top scorer of this match was Montenegro’s Klara Đukić, who scored 20 points. On the home team, the leading scorer was Darina Ivanova with 18 points.

Serbia, following their loss in the opening match, achieved a victory over Greece with a 3:1 result (21:25, 25:21, 25:18, 25:18). For Serbia, Andjelija Tadić with 19 points and Teodora Zec with 18 were the best. For Greece, Dorothea Christina Karagkouti stood out with 18 points.

On Friday, the scheduled matches are Montenegro vs. Romania, Greece vs. Bulgaria, and Serbia vs. Turkiye.
