After the third day of competition, the pool stage of the U19 Balkan Championship for women has concluded. Serbia and Romania, along with Bulgaria and Turkiye, will play in the semifinals.
In Pool A, Serbia finished at the top of the table with three wins, followed by Romania, which secured two victories. Albania recorded one win, while Bosnia and Herzegovina remained winless. In Pool B, Bulgaria achieved a perfect record with three wins, Turkiye followed with two, North Macedonia had one victory, and Kosovo did not register any wins. Three matches are scheduled for Saturday: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo will compete for 7th place at 14h, while the semifinal matches will be played at at16.30h and 19h.
On the final day of the pool stage, Turkiye was dominant against North Macedonia, winning 3:0 (25:18, 25:15, 25:6). Aylin Uscalan and Ezel Balik each scored 14 points for Turkiye, while Ana Gjorgijevska won 6 for North Macedonia.
Serbia defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina in four sets, 3:1 (25:15, 25:23, 20:25, 25:23). Bojana Kristanović led Serbia to their third win with 11 points, while Marija Fundup scored 16 for the opposing team.
In the third match of the day, Bulgaria dropped a set to Kosovo but ultimately secured a win with scores of 25:18, 23:25, 25:12, 25:13. Simona Ivanova was the top scorer for Bulgaria with 18 points, followed by Kalina Veneva with 15, and Nicol Okoro with 11. On the other side, Adea Millaku scored 7 for Kosovo.
In the final match of the day, Romania and Albania battled for a place in the semifinals. After more than two hours of play, Romania claimed victory by winning the fifth set 15:13. Gabriela Bianca Cucu led Romania with 25 points, while Irsa Metanj scored 21 for Albania.
