U20M: Gold medal for Bulgaria

The Bulgarian U20 men’s national team won the Balkan Championship, which took place from August 13 to 17 in Vrnjacka Banja. The host team of Serbia secured second place, while Turkiye claimed third place.

On the final day of the competition, a fifth place match was played, in which Albania defeated North Macedonia 3:0. In the bronze medal match, Turkiye triumphed over Greece with a 3:2. In an exciting final, Bulgaria celebrated a 3:1 win against Serbia.

The awards, medals, and trophies were presented by Đula Mešter, President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia (OSS), Ivan Knežević, General Secretary of OSS, Petar Bogunović, President of the Volleyball Federation of Vojvodina (OSV) and Vice President of OSS, Danilo Mrđa, Competition Director of OSS, Zoran Pavličević, Saša Milić, and Slaviša Perović, delegates of the OSS Assembly, and Mladen Maran, President of the Volleyball Association of Belgrade.

Individual awards:

The MVP of the U20 Men Balkan Championship was Simeon Nikolov from Bulgaria.

The best setter of the U20 Men Balkan Championship was Matija Milanović from Serbia.

The best middle blocker of the U20 Men Balkan Championship was Selim Yildiz from Turkiye.

The best outside spiker of the U20 Men Balkan Championship was  Aleksandar Kandev from Bulgaria.

The best opposite of the U20 Men Balkan Championship was Luka Stanković from Serbia.

The best libero of the U20 Men Balkan Championship was Konstantin Cipev from Bulgaria.
