U17W: Bulgaria, Türkiye and Serbia opened competition with victories

U17W Balkan Championship started today, 06th July in Vranje. Competition was opened by Nenad Djordjevic, member of City Council Vranje in charge of sports and youth.

Bulgaria, Türkiye, and Serbia celebrated victories in their first matches.

At the beginning of competition, Bulgaria beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 3:1 (25:13, 25:16, 19:25, 25:20) in pool A. BVA star Iva Dudova scored 15 points for Bulgaria, while Andrea Rapic and Ema Klopic registered 8 points for Bosnia.

In the 2nd match, Türkiye defeated Romania 3:0 (25:16, 25:6, 25:15) in pool B. For the winning team BVA Star Ceylin Kuyan was the best player with 12 points, five points won Antonia Dora Gheti and Daria Maria Cocan in Romanian team.

Later in the evening, Serbia beat Moldova 3:0 (25:9, 25:12, 25:7). Ana Mihajlovic was the best player in Serbian team with 13 points, while Saliuta Xenia and Sofia Cacen scored two points for Moldova.

U17 Women Balkan Championship starts on Wednesday in Vranje

U17 Women Balkan Championship 2022 will be played from 06th until 10th July in Sports Hall “Vranje” in Vranje, Serbia.

After successful organization of U18M Balkan Championship, Volleyball Federation Serbia will host women U17 national teams from Balkan.

Participating teams:

Pool A: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Moldova and Serbia.

Pool B: North Macedonia, Romania and Türkiye.

U18M: Gold medal for Türkiye

Türkiye is the winner of U18 Men Balkan Championship 2022, which was held from 28th June until 02nd July in Novi Sad (Serbia), in front of runner up Bulgaria and Serbia, who won bronze medal.

In final match of competition, Türkiye defeated Bulgaria 3:0 (25:20, 25:23, 25:19) and won title. BVA Star Dogan Karakoc lead Türkiye to gold medal, while Georgy Bachavarov was the best scorer in Bulgarian team with 11 points.

In match for bronze medal, Serbia defeated Moldova 3:0 (25:15, 25:14, 25:12) and won third place and bronze medal. Aleksa Starovic and Nikola Stanojevic were the best in Serbian team with 14 points. Nine points had Alexei Usatov in Moldova team.

Romania defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 3:0 (25:17, 25:21, 25:19) and won 5th place on tournament. Dav Taranu Runcan was the best in Romanian team with 16 points, while in Bosnian team Nikola Djuric won 10 points.

MVP of U18M Balkan Championship is BVA star Dogan Karakoc from Türkiye and his award was presented by Slobodan Boskan, olympic gold medal winner from Sydney 2000. and head coach of Vojvodina NS Seme.

Luka Stankovic from Serbia is the best opposite of U18M Balkan Championship 2022.

Jildiz Selim from Türkiye is the best middle blocker of U18 Men Balkan Championship.

Aslan Hamza from Türkiye is the best outside spiker of U18M Balkan Championship.

Simeon Nikolov from Bulgaria is the best setter of U18M Balkan Championship.

Konstantin Cipev from Bulgaria is the best libero of U18 Men Balkan Championship.

Moldova is awarded as a fair play team.
